Base Building Guide

Base building is a confirmed full-release feature not available in the demo. Players will construct and upgrade camps using materials gathered from the world.

Stockpile these materials during exploration to prepare for base construction:

• Wood — from Forest and wooden structures
• Metal — from Refinery and industrial zones
• Fabric — from residential and commercial buildings
• Crafting components — from infected drops

Place your base near a safe room but not in high-traffic infected paths. Proximity to shop NPCs and resource nodes reduces travel time on repeat runs.

Upgrade walls and storage first. Defense and inventory capacity provide the highest return on early material investment.

Recommended upgrade order for new bases:

• 1. Perimeter walls — keep infected out
• 2. Storage chests — expand inventory capacity
• 3. Crafting station — enable advanced item creation
• 4. Defensive traps — protect against horde events
• 5. Cosmetic upgrades — lowest priority
